Hello! I’m Leah Matheson
– steward, imaginer, and author. I’m still getting used to that word “author.” I owned it as an identity much more freely when I was a ten year old. Now it’s like a new outfit, that everyone says looks great on me, but I’m not feeling quite comfortable in it. The outfit was given to me by The One who designed me. So I will wear it. And I’ll let it wear me. Maybe one day I’ll look in the mirror with this “new outfit” on and think myself beautiful. Til then, I wear it a bit awkwardly.
Imagination Encounter is where I introduce the work entrusted to me and make room for the thoughts, stories, and ponderings that He’s asked me to steward. I am determined to not be one who buries the talent (Matt 25:14–30). This step out of the hidden place into the light has been uncomfortable. The “new outfit” is suiting for such a journey. But I don’t travel alone. The One who walks with me leads me out by His very hand and invites me into an Encounter with Him through imagination. And now I invite you into the Encounter as well.
I pray that you’ll allow The Lord, your Maker and Savior Jesus Christ of Nazareth, to sanctify your imagination, that the eyes of your heart may be opened to see and experience that realm, and that you’d encounter Him there. (Eph 1:18)
My husband Jaron and I raise our three mighty young men in the north woods of Minnesota. Between homeschooling the boys, freelance graphic design, working in the family businesses (get your dog some amazing treats from All American Canine!), and keeping all the guys fed, I can usually be found listening to a podcast while enjoying a jigsaw puzzle.
Thank you for visiting.
